Parent and Family Engagement

8esearch tells us that students with engaged parents and families, are more likely to:

• Learn to read faster (Exhibit faster rates of literacy acquisition.)
• Have higher grades and test scores.
• Are promoted and take more challenging classes.
• Adapt better to school and have better attendance.
• Have better social skills and behavior.
• Graduate.

 

In an effort to promote family engagement, 96th Street STEAM Academy in collaboration with staff and parents, has written the following School Parent Compact and Parent and Family Engagement Policy.  The Compact and Policy were updated for the 2022-2023 school year.  This year's updated Compact and Policy will be available in November, 2023.
